I (Prerequisite: None)
This drawing and painting course gives the art
student an opportunity to explore many new materials and learn additional techniques
of working in art. All work is 2-dimensional and will consist of black
and white and color pieces. Creating good composition will be the focus
of this class. NOTE: A sketchbook is required for drawing assignments outside
of class. 1 credit - 6 periods/cycle.
Art
II (Art I)
This is a 2-dimensional, studio course offering
more advanced levels of work in art and preparation of "quality" assignments.
Experiences will include setting up a portfolio, drawing, painting, lettering,
matting and design. NOTE: All students are required to organize and keep a portfolio
case. 1 credit - 6 periods/cycle.
Design
Concepts (Art I)
This course in creative problem solving will give
the student an opportunity to work in a wide range of materials and techniques.
A variety of projects will be produced. 1 credit - 6 periods/cycle.
Art
Studio (3 Credits in
Art)
The art studio will provide the serious art student
an opportunity to prepare a portfolio and refine his/her skills. In-depth work
experiences, individualized programs, and a chance to exhibit art work will
be part of the course. NOTE: A presentation portfolio is required of each student.
