Eastern High School Career Development Opportunities:

     
1. CHOICES(9-12): Computer software program for all Eastern students. Provides interest surveys and skills surveys. Gives information on occupations and school, plus a whole lot more.
 
2. JOB SHADOW (9-12): An opportunity to shadow a career of your choice for a few hours or the whole day
 
3. MENTOR PROGRAM (11-12): A long-term job shadow for 18-20 hours over several weeks. The mentor site must match your career objective.
 
4. SCHOOL-TO-CAREER PROGRAM (12): A unique plan of education designed to connect classroom learning with supervised
 
5. ADVANCED SKILLS CENTER (12): As part of the School-to-Career program, seniors may obtain free training in welding, machining, repair technology, information technology, auto CAD, nursing assistant, and allied health.
 
6. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM (11-12): A once a week career exploration program for juniors and seniors who are unsure of their career direction.
 
7. Y.E.S. (YORK EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS) (12):
A course designed to teach employability skills necessary to gain and keep employment in all career areas.
 
8. YORK COUNTY SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY (9-12): For students entering grades 9.10, or 11. This school is designed for students who plan to purse a career in a technical trade.
