Overview of District     Eastern York School District is a rural community located in eastern York County. With a general population of approximately 17,000, our five schools house a total of 2850 students. The district is comprised of 6 municipalities: East Prospect Borough, Hallam Borough, Hellam Township, Lower Windsor Township, Yorkana Borough, and Wrightsville Borough.

Notice to parents: Permission for an educational trip must be requested in writing to the district Attendance Officer two (2) weeks prior to a trip. The parent/guardian will be notified in writing as to the approval or disapproval of the request. Students are limited to a total of five (5) excused educational trip days in a school calendar year. It is the discretion of the administration as to what constitutes a trip as educational. No educational trips will be approved during the window of PSSA Assessment, during mid-term and final examinations, or during the first and last weeks of school.

If more than five (5) days are requested for a trip, the subsequent days will be marked as unexcused unless written permission is granted through the Superintendent.

If the student is absent from school and an educational trip form has not been submitted and written approval received from the district Attendance Officer, the days absent will be considered unexcused. Printable trip request form located here.
