The Eastern York School District is required by the federal law, No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Section 1111 (h), to provide all parents of students with an annual "Report Card" for the school district and the schools. The following pages are designed to provide you with the required information related to your child's school. What you will find are several tables which include the following information:
  • The district made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in Math and Reading.
  • Attendance and graduation rates for each building (where appropriate) have met AYP.
  • The number of district teachers who are "highly qualified", meaning are they teaching classes they are certified to teach.
  • Performance levels in math and reading for the district and each individual school your child attends. The levels are Advanced, Proficient, Basic and Below Basic. Schools need to score 45% in the Advanced/Proficient range for Reading and 35% in the Advanced/Proficient range for Math. The scores need to increase for the 05-06 school year to 54% for Reading and 45% for Math.
  • A two (2) year trend graph showing the score levels for the 02- 03 and 03-04 school years.
If you have any questions or comments regarding the data in this report, please contact your child's building principal or the assistant superintendent for additional information. The information is also being posted on our district website.
