Meet the Principal

Mr. Doug Enders,

Principal of Wrightsville Elementary

Dear Wrightsville Community,

I am blessed and humbled by the opportunity to serve in the Eastern York School District and specifically as the principal of Wrightsville Elementary!  We have an OUTSTANDING student body, supportive PTO, and passionate staff.  Our goal is simple . . . create the BEST SCHOOL IN THE UNIVERSE!  This is quite a goal and to make it happen we recognize the importance of continuous improvement.  We use advisory committees, in-services, faculty meetings, parent conferences, surveys, and grade-level meetings to review data and reflect on ways we can improve our strong learning community.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have.  You can email me at or contact the office (717.252.3676).

I made this video about myself and family during the summer when I was hired to start at Wrightsville Elementary.

Educational Background: After attending Red Land High School in the West Shore School District, I graduated from Messiah College (Class of 2000).  I earned a Master’s Degree from Shippensburg University in 2010.
Teaching Experience: I taught for three years at Carlisle High School before returning to my alma mater to teach and coach at Red Land High school.  In both cases, I taught Social Studies courses (government, economics, sociology, AP Economics).
Administrative Experience: In 2010, I was hired as the building principal of Highland Elementary in the West Shore School District.  I served there for four years before coming to Wrightsville Elementary in the summer of 2014.
Hobbies / Miscellaneous Information: I enjoy spending time with my family in a variety of ways (hiking, fishing, watching movies, coaching, etc.).  I am a huge Philadelphia sports fan (especially the Phillies and Eagles).  I enjoy reading about school culture, cultivating grit, and Carol Dweck’s growth mindset!
