School-Wide Consequences

Responsibility

Everyone involved in the Eastern York School District shares a responsibility for discipline.  This includes teachers, administrators, staff, parents, other students, any member of the educational community, and you.  Ultimately, you are responsible for behaving in an acceptable manner to the entire educational community.

Discipline

If a student breaks the rules or expectation, there will be consequences.  Consequences can mean more than just a punishment. Consequences may include some form of punishment, but will also encompass explanations of what you did wrong and ways to improve your behavior so that the behavior does not happen again.  We will make every attempt to be fair and just in dealing with you, the student. The following is a guideline for Eastern York Middle School and its discipline structure.

SWPBS Consequences

Disciplinary actions will be taken each marking period according to the number of dents a student receives.  Students can receive dents in their A.R.M.O.R. if they do not follow the expectations listed above.  Those students who keep their armor shiny will be rewarded by the teams throughout each marking period.  Each team will keep track of their own dents and contact parents accordingly.

Discipline Level Number of dents  Intervention
Level I   When a student reaches 5 dents  Student/Teacher Conference
Intervention put in place to help student
Communication will be made to the parent/guardian

Level II When a student reaches 10 dents Student/Teacher Conference
New intervention put in place to help student
Phone call will be made to the parent/guardian
    After-School Detention (2:45-3:45 PM)

Level III When a student reaches 15 or more dents Office Referral

Please note:  Some behaviors may require immediate and/or serious consequences.  These behaviors will be dealt with directly by administration.
